• Breast Cancer accounts for more than 1 in 4 cancers diagnosed in women in the U.S.?
• Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death among Hispanic women?
• White women will have the highest incidence rates of breast cancer, but African-American women will have the highest mortality rates?
• An estimated 2,800 women in Arizona will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year?
• 600 women in Arizona will die of breast cancer this year?

This year, Alpha Delta Pi has decided to form a team for the Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure to help our local community. The Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure is a 5K Walk/Run to raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. The Phoenix Race is the largest 5K event in Arizona and last year raised over $1.9 million. Since 1993, the Phoenix Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure has raised and granted over $13.4 million, with $3.2 million for breast cancer research, and $10.2 million for education, screening and treatment programs in Northern and Central Arizona - making it the largest private grantor of breast cancer funds in Arizona.
